What a closer does

You run the closing call. The prospect already knows the offer, because a setter or a campaign qualified them first. Your part is where the decision is made: sharpen the need, handle objections, close. Cold outreach is usually not part of it.

How you get paid

These roles are commission-based, paid from your first close. No base salary and no fixed hours, but slow weeks are on you. Percentage, basis and payout date are agreed in writing before you start. Ask how many qualified appointments you get per week and where they come from. That number drives your earnings more than your close rate does.

What companies expect

Few clients ask for certificates. They look for someone who listens, follows up in a structured way and does not take rejection personally. Industry experience helps but is rarely required. If you have never run closing calls, a setter role is the usual way in.

Closer, setter or full-cycle?

The three roles are easily confused. A setter qualifies inbound requests and books appointments, a closer runs the closing call, and full-cycle means both in one pair of hands, from first contact to signature. Which one a listing actually means is not always in its title. Ask who supplies the appointments. The answer tells you more about your working day than the job title does.
