The term describes the price of the offer, not your qualification. As a rule of thumb it starts in the four-figure range. Below that a personal sales call rarely pays off for the vendor, so the website sells instead.
Why these calls are different
The higher the price, the longer the decision. More often several people are involved, and more often you meet objections about price, risk and timing. You run fewer calls than on cheap offers, but they last longer and preparation counts for more. A no here rarely comes immediately; it comes after the third contact.
Checking that a role is real
This segment attracts offers that are not roles but courses. The check takes five minutes: is there a company behind it? Can you find the product, or does it only exist inside the call? Is the commission in writing? Is any upfront payment required? The only acceptable answer to the last question is none.
Which industries sell this way
High-priced offers sold over a call cluster where the product needs explaining: training and coaching, B2B software on annual contracts, agency services, consulting, and financial or property services. The way the conversation runs is similar across all of them; the domain knowledge is not. If you have worked in one of these fields, that counts for more in an interview than any sales training.
