Remote really means remote

You work from home or wherever you are. German listings use "Homeoffice" and "remote" interchangeably, and they mean the same thing. Calls run over video or phone, notes go into the client’s CRM. There is no office in these roles.

What you need

Technically not much: a stable connection, a quiet room, a decent headset. Self-management matters more. Nobody reminds you about the follow-up you pushed to tomorrow. In remote sales, a day you do not structure yourself costs revenue faster than it would in an office.

Time zone and language

Clients are in the DACH region and calls are in German. Appointments usually sit inside normal business hours, and where you live rarely matters within Europe. Agree on the hours you are expected to be reachable before you start. That is the most common misunderstanding in remote roles.

The tools you will use

In most remote roles you work inside the client’s CRM: HubSpot, Pipedrive, Close or something built in-house. Add a scheduling tool for bookings and Zoom or Google Meet for the calls themselves. Access and licences are normally provided. If you are asked to pay for them, treat it as a warning sign: tools belong to the engagement, not to your expenses.
